Matt is an accomplished wrestler.  He accumulated over 100 wins at the high school and collegiate level. Matt was a state placer (3rd) in high school, and was a Division I national qualifier at Eastern Illinois University. Yet to taste defeat as a pro, Matt has collected MMA wins throughout the Midwest region in Shoot Fight Challenge, Supreme Fighting Challenge, Pure Force, Extreme Challenge, and Iowa Challenge,. He will join Matt Hughes at his new gym as an assistant trainer, and hopes to soon move into the UFC or WEC.

Competing in mixed martial arts now for three years, none of Matt's opponents have seen the second round. High impact slams and double leg takedowns are the trademarks of his game, and his wrestling has overwhelmed his competition to this point in his career. From an early age, Matt has had a burning desire to compete. There have been no breaks from athletics, just hardcore training and competition.

Word from a warrior... "Sometimes I feel like all I know is training. After 5 years of collegiate wrestling it has become second nature to me. I wanted to continue competing at a high level because I know I'm good at it, God gave me athletic gifts that others don't have. MMA was the outlet I chose to display that. When I step into a cage all of life’s problems go away, all that little stuff. It's just me and my opponent and nothing else matters. Competing…me and another guy…as real as it gets." - Matt Veach
