Jon competed in wrestling, football, and tennis in high school in Valdosta, GA. He became the Georgia 5A state champion as a heavyweight his senior year. Making the move into MMA shortly after high school, Jon defeated the legendary fighter Dan "the beast" Severn in just his second fight. Jon has amassed an impressive mixed martial arts record, and is also a UFC veteran. Jon is now fighting in EliteXC. Promising to take on all comers, Jon is stepping up to the super heavyweight class to face Antonio Silva. A move that shows his courage and faith in his skills.

Not only is Jon a formidable competitor, he is well trained in sport academically as well. He earned a Bachelor of Science in sports medicine from Valdosta State, and shortly thereafter a Master’s in sports medicine from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Jon recently moved to the hometown of his wife Emily in Illinois, and is currently an athletic trainer at a local high school.
